Fashion in movie (style inspiration) + (kako postati) Moderna Pepeljuga

Nedavno sam odgledala film “The Rum Diary”. O filmu nisam znala ništa, sem da u njemu glumi Johnny Depp, što je bio dovoljan razlog da ga pogledam. Prvi deo filma me je oduševio, čak i podsetio na čuveni “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, ali me je druga polovina malkice razočarala. Ali, ovaj post nije o filmu, već o modi u tom filmu. I prelepoj glavnoj glumici, za koju mislim da ima dosta potencijala.
Amber Heard (Chenault u filmu) ima neverovatan boho stil pedesetih godina, nalik na onome koji je zastupljen u seriji Mad Men. Kostimograf filma, Colleen Atwood je za ovu lepu glumicu sam napravila crvenu koktel haljinu, koja je bitan momenat u filmu. Priznala je da je Chenault ono što je šik u filmu, i da se oko nje najviše trudila. Takođe nam je na nevorovatan način dočarala duh Portorika. Na kraju, ipak vam preporučujem da pogledate film, i uživate u Johnnijevoj glumi i liku, lepoti i haljinama glavne glumice Amber, ali i divnim plažama i moru!
 
The Rum Diary movie, that I saw recently,  is making fashion waves. Amber Heard brings the style element to the 50’s Puerto Rico through her character, the bohemian Chenault. The red dress she wears for the sexy and ultimately dangerous dance number in the movie is the epitome of the sexy retro summer dress evocative of that period. Considering how hot retro style has been lately- think Mad Men, Pan Am- we were inspired  to do a modern get the look version.
The Rum Diary’s costume designer Colleen Atwood custom made Heard’s hourglass cocktail dresses for the movie. Atwood said in this interview , “ Within the parameters of the story (Chenault) she was the only person who was actually chic. My inspiration for her was this kind of Irving Penn, mid ’50s feeling of beautiful doyenne, perfectly fitting clothes and perfectly elegant.”

She dished Nylon magazine about Heard’s amazing outfits.

Let’s talk about the main female in the film, Amber Heard’s character Chenault.
Chenault was sort of the frosting on the cake, because she had style. Within the parameters of the story she was the only person who was actually chic. My inspiration for her was this kind of Irving Penn, mid ’50s feeling of beautiful doyenne, perfectly fitting clothes and perfectly elegant.

How do you even get started thinking about clothes for a film like this? The Rum Diary is based on a specific time and place. The first step is finding photo research and info about the period and the time, so we looked at lots of old pictures. We started looking at clothes that just had the right feeling, starting with Johnny. We a lot to southern Florida, that type of style, since there wasn’t a lot to go from. It was interesting because we had to dress the poorest of the poor to the richest of the rich.

Where do you get the clothing?
We made a lot of the principle’s clothes just to get it perfect and for the extras we rented from costume shops. I also look online and at vintage stores.

    ja sam ga odgledla čim je izašao, i oduševila se 🙂 Zbog Johhnya u principu, ali sam imala totalni girl crush u ovu glumicu, pogotovo u onoj krem haljini na početku fimla 🙂 i crvenim usnama 😀 kak sam rekla :girl crush: :p

    Izvini na prepravljanju, Colleen Atwood je zena, ali totalno si u pravu sve sto si rekla o Amber Heard u ovom filmu, dok sam ga gledala nisam mogla da zamislim ni jednu drugu glumicu u toj ulozi.

    Nisam gledala film, svakako hoću. Film koji je mene totalno oduševio baš zbog fantastične odjeće bio je film Andya Garcie The lost city! Film je odličan, ali ta odjeća, haljine, šeširi, odijela…Mislim, Kuba prije Castra, treba li još što dodati? Ilina

    Film je fora, ništa specijalno, ali Amber je predivna 🙂
    Opsjednuta sam s tom ženom, hehhe

    Pogledaj je u filmovima ‘The Ward’ i ‘Drive Angry’ 🙂 Osim što je ona super u njima, filmovi su predobri 🙂
